New World Wine Awards Gold for Caythorpe Family Estate Rose

We are thrilled to announce that our Caythorpe Family Estate 2023 Marlborough Rose has been awarded a Gold Medal and included in the prestigious New World Wine Awards Top 50 selection for 2024.

Caythorpe Family Estate director and viticulturist Simon Bishell is elated with the result. “Rose is a popular and competitive category, particularly leading into the summer months. To achieve a place in the Top 50, the exposure that it provides and listing in every New World store throughout NZ is simply invaluable.”

The award this year follows on from the success of Caythorpe Chardonnay in the 2023 awards, where it took the Champion Chardonnay and White Wine of Show titles. “It is nice to be acknowledged with a different varietal, and again reinforces there is more to Marlborough than Sauvignon Blanc”, says Simon.

When asked to describe the wine, Simon says it is made predominately from Pinot Noir and will be a crowd pleaser for any Rose fan. “Think strawberries, watermelon and crunchy pear. And if looking for a summer food match, you’d struggle to go past some dark and juicy Caythorpe Family Estate cherries!”.
