Collection: Our wines
Caythorpe is nestled in Marlborough's Wairau Plains, the heart of New Zealand’s world-renowned winegrowing region. Once an ancient riverbed, the free-draining, deep silt loam soils are ideal for viticulture. |
Paired with plentiful sunshine, cool nights and low rainfall it is the perfect location to grow world-class grapes. To produce a great vintage you also need the right people. We are lucky to have fifth-generation Simon Bishell managing viticultural operations, and the talented Jeremy McKenzie as our head winemaker. |
The background image on all our wine labels is that of our founding ancestor David, with his prized Lincoln sheep. Without David's vision and sacrifice, we wouldn't have an opportunity to produce wines that are reflective of our family values and provenance. We think that deserves special recognition. |
